Quick answer
Spain
Company subscriptions for staff
Companies can buy several subscriptions for their employees through a request form. Ask your employer whether it has one.
Gift subscription
You buy the subscription and add a message, and El Confidencial emails the recipient an activation code to redeem.
Free articles without the EC Exclusivo label
Only articles marked EC Exclusivo need a subscription; the rest of elconfidencial.com and the free app can be read without paying. On the homepage the label sits above the headline, so you can see before clicking which pieces are free.
Free email newsletters
El Confidencial sends a range of daily and weekly newsletters, such as El Hilo and Newsletter Espresso, that you can sign up to without paying. A few, such as Ibex Insider, are for subscribers.
Subscribe in the iPhone or iPad app
The App Store lists these in-app subscriptions for Spain. It does not say how long the offer prices last or who qualifies, so check the terms on the purchase screen.
Student offer
El Confidencial has a separate subscription offer for students. The page only shows its price once it loads in a browser, and we could not read it, so check the amount before you pay.
